Statement of Beliefs

We believe that the Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, was written by man under the inspiration of God; that it is inerrant and infallible in the original autographs, absolutely trustworthy and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe that God is of one essence and three persons; He is triune; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, all three persons of the Trinity being equal in honour and glory. We believe that God is the Creator of heaven and earth and He alone is the absolute and eternal one.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, sinless in his nature and in his life. He by His death on the cross, saved us from sin and death. He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God where He ever lives to make intercession for us, according to His promise. He will return to judge and rule the world.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is one of the Holy Trinity. He came to reveal Christ to the world, to convict the world of sin, to cause men through repentance and faith in Christ to be born again, and to comfort, guide and sanctify the believers.

We believe that man is created in God’s image; yet because of Adam’s sin he is sinful in nature and is incapable of saving himself; therefore man needs Christ’s salvation. Man is saved by grace through faith. By grace, because of Jesus’ substitution death on the cross, the believer is freely justified. Those who personally believe in Jesus Christ as Savior will have full forgiveness of sin and new life in Christ.

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ; Christ is the head and the believers are members. We believe that the local church is organized so that the believers might worship, fellowship, and proclaim the Gospel together.

We believe that the local church as established by Christ and governed by God, is a democratic, autonomous, and spiritual organization. Hence, pastor, preacher, deacon, staff, believer, etc. are equally under the authority of Jesus Christ. The General Meeting of the members is the supreme decision making body of the local church.

We believe that there are two ordinances of the Church. One is believer’s baptism by immersion. The other is the Lord’s supper, which was established for the purpose of remembering the Saviour.

We believe in the imminent return of Christ; specifically in the premillennial position regarding the earthly return of Jesus Christ and that He will reign on the earth during the millennial kingdom.

We believe that all believers will dwell with God in a literal eternal Heaven and all unbelievers will be eternally separated from God in Hell.
